Default make pages wider

the templates at SBI are so small how can I make it wider, the same as 2create a website com? I like to have a template like this.
The nav bar is like mine in SBI, but the pages of 2createawebsite.com are 100% wide.
How can I do this?
I can't find any wide templates in SBI Do they have any?
The template I got now is this...just started.

You could start working on your own template Just put your site up with SBI! and once you finish your template design, copy and paste your content from your SBI! pages, delete them and upload your own pages.

Making your own pages/templates is the best way to have it exactly how you want it.. although it is very tough and brain smashing if you dont really know what your doing.. haha (my situation)

yeah, I rather let this idea go, as it takes up to much time with CSS etc.... I just read in SBI they are all small and cannot be changed unless you upload your own.
I wouldn't understand how to use the same nay bar. I like the navbar in SBI
because it is well organized and it appears on all pages. When I upload my own pages do I have to completely create a new navbar as well?

Yes, you would have to make a entirely different page layout than SBI! unless you can copy the SBI! layout in like DreamWeaver and just edit the width and stuff. Actually, im getting the hang of it, I watched Lisa's CSS tutorial and downloaded her template, edited how I like it, now I just need to save it a lot of different times for each of my pages and add content, then upload it to the web host I buy and wah-lah! Website that you designed/edited!

Also watch lisa's videos on how to make include files, super helpful!
(include file is where you can edit like the nav bar on all of your pages but you only have to change it in that one file instead of editing it in like, all of your 50 pages.. and each page looks the same, just with different content.

Your correct, I have not bought it yet, But I know all that information because I read every page on lisa's websites and watched all of her videos, she shows you her account on SBI and how she uploads her own template to it and stuff. It is really cool, and no I cannot afford DreamWeaver yet, so im using the trial version, but when the trial runs out ill work with kompozer (kompozer.net) which is the free html visual editor thing that lisa recommends.

I would strongly recommend visiting www.2planawebsite.com and www.2createawebsite.com and visiting lisa's youtube account and watch all of the videos with titles that you might be interested in.

I really didn't know much HTML when I started transitioning my SBI site.

I bought a template with helpful instructions from another SBI'er (although you can use Lisa's and use her video as well)

You don't need to buy Dreamweaver....I went with James' recommendation to use free Notetab Lite as my text editor (I LOVE it James...thank you!).

The header was the most challenging part for me..I wasted a lot of time trying to muddle through it myself. You can keep the SBI header you have, design your own, or pay someone to design one for you (mine ended up costing me only $30). I think that picture you have on your home page would make a great header!

All that being said...I am SOOOO glad I made the transition as it is so much easier to make any changes on my site. And I just uploaded seven new pages, the first since I transitioned and even they were a breeze!

I would, however, recommend you at least get started in Blockbuilder if you are a newbie at website building, like I was(am) as I learned a lot that way..enough to be able to get through the basics and to have a decent foundation when I finally decided to transition.

And to address your initial question...no, you can't change the width of the SBI templates, you can only move them left, centered, and I can't remember if you can move it right but I don't think so!

Totally agree. Since SBI! is not like a standard web host you have to go through a few extra steps to get DW and any other software to work with it. So no sense in inundating yourself with learning the SBI! process and how to "Upload Your Own HTML" at the same time. I would definitely recommend as Jewel says to get your site going with the simple Block by Block builder and THEN tackle the transition once you're getting traffic and are more comfortable with HTML, etc.

Even though I had that standard SBI! template for 2 years, it still generated a lot of traffic as simple as it was. So it's not all about the design. It's about how much traffic you can generate and convert sales. Focus on that first. Then tackle the re-design.
