You have to use your judgement in these matters, don't you. Fortunately, when I look at your work I can say that yours is excellent. Everytime I see what you are doing I am so impressed.
Look at your own two projects which we can see from your signature. Your website has plenty now to form a base and I know you will keep adding important material that will be productive for you. But you had to have a substantial amount of good information to make it effective.
Your blog, on the other hand, while it needs to keep growing to stay productive, can be very successful with far fewer pages. People expect to get fresh and interesting information and will keep reading if they do. They do not expect you to have a lot of additional articles if it is reasonably new.
My view is that a person needs to focus on content until what you have in the way of good content feels ok when looked at from a consumer's viewpoint. I am working on a site that will certainly need 100 pages to meet that criteria. I have another I want to do later that might do well with 5-10 because it has a very limited niche.
