I used to be one of the ones to roll my eyes about sbi too. There was sooooo much hype about it that it made me an instant skeptic. But once I met Lisa and a couple of others who are actually making decent money from their sites it's really hard to ignore it.
I just think the point should be made and I think it's been said in the forums several times before, it's not sbi that makes you money. It's you building good content. SBI acts as the GUIDE to show you how to choose the right keywords to target and even how to become a better copywriter.
I will be the first to admit I hate doing a lot of writing, which is one reason I never bought it. I'm good at coming up with catchy headlines and quick sales copy but writing pages and pages on a topic has never appealed to me. Maybe I am just not passionate enough about something to write 30, 40, or 100 pages about it. I've read stories that some sbi customers have over 1,000 pages. I can't imagine knowing enough about anything to write that much!
I'm rambling but my point is I think it's great sbi is trying to catch-up to other hosting companies in terms of offering platforms that support PHP, etc. It may appeal to a whole new audience, which I'm sure that was Mr. Evoy's plan. It'll be interesting to see how it goes over. Lisa (and anyone else who owns sbi), will have to keep us updated on the new features and how they are impacting your site.
