Default Is SBI the most ideal host for....

website that will sell hard goods? It seems as though 95% of the people using SBI own informational websites and not commerce websites. I have never built a website before, and I would like to do everything myself as far as design goes, but this site's primary function will be to sell hard goods. Is SBI the most ideal site for what I'd like to accomplish? I saw in another thread that you have to pay extra to set up a shopping page. If not SBI, any other suggestions? Please advise.

Thanks.

I would agree that most people who buy SBI! end up creating an informational website. That's now to say you cannot create a hard goods site and succeed. If you go to http://hardgoods.sitesell.com/ you'll see some sample sites of people who have created hard good sites.

Of course SBI! is not the only way but it's the only system that I know that actually educates you on the entire CTPM (Content-Traffic-Presell-Monetization) process instead of just selling you a glamorized e-store for a monthly fee and then leaving you on your own to figure out how to get traffic and make money.

I must say, selling hard goods online is very foreign to me. I have been in the affiliate marketing / information site bubble for 10 years so I don't know much about other ecommerce systems. Maybe someone else can share their experience with other systems.

I don't have a hard goods store...but before buying sbi I purchased one of those packages designed for a hard goods store...for lots and lots of money and I don't have much to show for it. I started building a store, worked very hard at it as a matter of fact, but the support and educationw as nothing like what I have gotten since I purchased sbi.

I have to say that if you don't know about website building and driving traffic to your site, sbi is still the way to go. All the tools they provide are still good for a hard goods store...you just integrate the store into your site. You can still provide information about the products you are selling.

As far as extra money...I think you have to pay for another domain name and hosting...and then infinit your store into your site...but that is all.
