For me I
think I only started making some money from my site at around month 9 or 10, but I'm pretty sure it had paid for itself by the end of the first year. The second year it paid for itself several times over, and I think that by the third year I was (and still am) doing it full time...
The thing with SBI I find is that it's not 'fast', but it does indeed snowball IF you think of the needs and requirements of your
visitors first, and then find innovative ways to monetize from there. Of course, this is the opposite of what most people who want to make money online do - they think about
themselves and the money they can get first - which is why so few who don't do SBI (or follow the same general philosophy) simply never get off the ground.
"Tortoise it".
