Hi Everyone,

I got so used to looking at >30 for all my page rankings that I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw 11 for one of my pages! My question is... what does that mean?

I've read SBI!'s notes 3 times on what bold vs. non bold means and what the numbers mean and I can't make sense of it.

I thought 11 was good, but when I typed that keyword for that page into Google (benefits of walking), my site doesn't come up until page 7 so that doesn't seem very good to me.

When your site is new your rankings will fluctuate quite a bit. So what happened was your page probably was ranked 11 when the SE report was run by SBI! but by the time you checked it had gone down. That happens a lot when you first start a site. Your rankings will stabilize in the long run. But that is something to celebrate because that means your site is making a move!!

Hi NewMamma! A big congratulations to you!!! 11th spot is fantastic and on your way up!

I will try to simplify what I understand about the bold v. nonbold....since you put your 11 in bold, I assume it was a bold 11 in the report.

So that means that THAT specific page, for its keyword, ranked at the 11th spot in the Google search...at the time the report was run.

If the number is not bold, then THAT specific page that is listed by the number does not rank in the top 30 positions for that keyword...but one of your other pages ranked in the 11th spot for that same keyword...even though it was not the keyword for the page that ranked in that spot. The report does not tell you which of your pages it was...but you should be able to find it by doing the search yourself.
