Default SBI Videos

I have my SBI account and I've started to go through the introductions, now it's sectioned to 10 days and I honestly don't think I need 10 days to views, I can do it sooner - is this ok to do? I was just wondering for those who have SBI, how long did it actually take you to view all the videos? Lisa, I'd especially like to hear from you-

I'm really excited that I have SBI now, I'm learning so much already!

Hi rwskate

Although the SBI tutorial is 'ten days' the amount of work you have to do as you complete each section will take you longer. I guess it depends how much experience you already have with website building and tech knowledge.

The SBI approach is slow and steady, understanding at each juncture what will help you build a 'successful' website. I am just over four months into the process and I am just coming up for air! The amount of info on the forums too can be quite overwhelming for a beginner but you have to hang in there and keep moving forward.

I honestly don't remember how long it took me that seemed like forever ago. I know it didn't take me 10 days though. I'm sure I combined a few days. 10 days is good for people who like to pace themselves but I think the instructions even tell you that you can go at your own pace.

But I would still make sure you go through all the exercises though. It's tempting to skip when you've created a site before. That's what I did with my first SBI! site and it failed.

Default Sounds good to me

Thanks Lisa and Star, I'm pacing myself and not rushing through the videos and information, I actually going through it nice and slow, although not too slow- It is a lot to take in but the results will be worth it in the long run AND I'm enjoying myself while reading and learning.

Thanks for replying. Loving SBI so far and I'm so glad I was able to get it. Thanks again, Rozz!

Mind you I have no prior experience with site building...I will just share my experience with SBI. I bought in January and am only on Day 7!!! I am going slow as between kids, scouts, and work there are sometimes periods of time where I can't pay attention to the site.

At any rate, I am stopped on Day 7 until I build my content to 20-30 pages, and then I will be moving forward. So my ten days has stretched out into quite a long period of time. But I am trying to follow the AG and am definitely learning and understanding much much more than I ever have with anything else I have tried to learn from (website building wise I mean).

I don't like the 2B names. The "2B" abbreviation and all the hyphens is a bit much for me. I like the last one the best but you should choose the name that you feel you can live with. Take your time. Yes, the domain is important but it's not going to be the deal breaker when it comes to succeeding and failing with your site. Your marketing and content is going to rule over everything.

Trust me, if I could do everything over again I would have NEVER chosen 2createawebsite.com. Quite frankly I hate the name now. But back in 2002 it was the thing to do for SEO. Despite me hating the name, the site is doing pretty well because of my marketing and content so I won't complain.

Take your time and choose what you like best.

Default Ok

Lisa: Thanks, I was actually leaning towards the last one, but I thought that the 2 would be simple and maybe a title that would get someone's attention. I'm still deciding on it-

Star: My niche is a informational website that offers real-life experiences, tips, and different types of info when it comes to work/career-related issues. I am what you'd call an 'infopreneur- It will be content that covers how to look for a job, resources, resume, interveiw dos and don't, etc my list is endless. I actually had a completely different niche when I started my blogs and it seems that I'm getting the most traffic and questions from folks that have work/job/career-related issues than anything else. Whichever blog that seemed to produce the most traffic, I was going to go ahead the create my SBI site on that. Interestingly though, my tellitlikeitis blog has over 100 unique visitors. I don't think I'd have enough content to actually create a website from it, but I will continue to update that blog as well as my computer blog.

Default I Chose my SBU domain name!

Ok, I was going back and forth with this and since I want to create as much content as possible, I thought I would be actually limiting myself if I kept the name 'in-the-workplace-com' and since decisons, actions, etc. regarding our jobs, careers, can be done inside/out, wherever, I've decided to name my sbi site: www.the-workplace-world.com

To me this can and will emcompass all areas of our professional lives, so there it is- I'm happy with my decision. It's not like I can go back and change it now anyway
