Default Can SBI be used to host a classified ad website?

Hi! I'm new here but plan on staying for a loooooong time. Great forum!

SBI will provide the hand holding that I need but can SBI be used to host a classified ad / information website? The ads / information will be for a very narrow audience instead of the usual 'post ads for any and everything' site. A small fee will be charged for placing ads.

I have also considered trying e-classifieds.net but I'm not sure how to set up information pages along with the classifieds using their service. Need some guidance here I am clueless.

Hi tuck1

Welcome! No, at this time you're better off using a regular host for something like that. The reason is you'll need scripts/programs to run a site like that and SBI! does not allow you to upload certain file formats that you would need to run that site.

Oh and I forgot to answer your second question. I used to run a classified ad site years and years ago. Basically I bought a script from one of the sites (you can do a Google search to find them) To install them you basically upload the web files to your host and configure a few things per the directions. They're not all that difficult to setup once you understand the basics of FTP and uploading files. Your host will generally have instructions for that.
