I was wondering if I could switch over to SBI! after a couple months of using a different web host. Or am I forced to start from scratch with a new domain name?

I am pretty sure you can transfer an existing domain hosted at a regular web host to SBI. I am not sure if you can do that after 2 months... I think (I could be wrong) but there is a general rule (not just SBI) that a domain has to be hosted for a minimum number of months before you can transfer it.

However, there are two issues:

1. Most hosts require a year worth of hosting when you sign up. Hostgator.com is one of the few ones that allows a month-to-month hosting.

2. And this probably more important... One of the great things when you sign up for SBI is that it provides you the tools and resources to help you narrow down your website topic/niche. This is critical, because the foundation of a website, and the time you spend in researching your topic/niche usually determine whether the site will succeed in the future or not.

1) That is still fine, Hostgator.com only charges 4.95 a month which is certainly affordable. Thanks for showing me the site.

2) Well, I am pretty sure I have found my niche. I will spend a lot of time researching and providing as much QUALITY content as I can. I do understand that my content needs to be good, so I will try my best to take my time and provide the best information I can. So that shouldn't be TOO much of a problem, although I am convinced SBI! would be helpful, it is impossible for me at the moment. Working part time $299 is about 2 weeks pay, if I am not breaking my back. It's about 25 hours of work, and I go to school full time, computer science major.
