Default Way to go Lisa!

I'm very impressed with your business sense. I'm anxious to get started with SBI and Dreamweaver! When you were first starting how did you indentify your first website concept?

Thanks,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce. My site is based completely on personal experience. And I cannot emphasize enough how important that is. When you can identify with your subject, writing content is a lot easier and you don't get bored. Not to mention, there's something to said about giving advice on a subject that you've had personal experience with.

Default New SBI

Lisa,

I have been in the death care industry for 18 yrs and an executive. I am in charge of pre-need funeral and cemetery property.

I'm thinking about employing that in my website. It's not a positive topic but a need that everyone will have to consider. What are your thoughts?

Regards,

Bruce

Lisa,

One more question..... Who do you prefer with affiliate marketing? I signed up with clickbank. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce you always want to pick your merchant partners based on your visitor's needs. Whether you choose ClickBank or Commission Junction or LinkShare or whatever doesn't really matter. You're main goal is to help your visitors by positioning yourself as a "solution provider."

You can't provide solutions until you know your visitor's problems and you won't know that until you get to know them.

Once you know what solutions they need then go find the right merchant partners to provide those solutions... wherever they are.

Thanks Rick for picking this one up. Good advice. This post slipped by me. Bruce, the affiliate programs I promote won't really do you a lot of good for your site. I promote products that suite a site based on web development. As far as Clickbank, it can work but I always prefer to actually buy and review the ClickBank products first because there is a lot of garbage on there. As Rick said, it's about finding products that fit your theme rather than looking searching by program name. What works on my site may be horrible for someone else and vice versa.

Lisa,

I'm thinking of using Dreamweaver as well. Did you back up your site first? My fear is that I will lose some content or pages in the "migration" to Dreamweaver. Thanks in advance for your input/suggestions.

If you think about it you are forced to back it up anyway just because you have to first save your newly designed site on your computer before uploading to SBI! anyway. So by default, I did have a copy on my computer because that's where I designed my new version.

Lisa,

I what I really mean is backing the site that is already on SBI BEFORE uploading new site. Just in case of a problem.

Thanks
