Default Proof of concept mid-way check

Yes I am a SBI owner coming to a year now. My success?? Nothing to shout about. Like some of you I am constantly battling with ranking, traffic and monetization. Today I decided it is time to check on my progress before I go too far.

Like millions I have chosen a pretty generic niche - travel I AM NOT A TOUR operator. Just a travel infopreneur. So this is what i did. I went to:

1. Learn about the top big mistakes SBI do.
- went down the list with a fine tooth comb. I can identify with their observations as it looks like they are describing me!!

2. Then I said ok I have learn how painful it is to build backlinks lets outsource it. at USD299 it is a little steep. They should price it lower for loyal SBI those who are into their 2 year should get cheaper. Don't you think so? Repeat users should get even lower. Many of us are low on business investment funds that is why we choose this as a business. Lower money treshold level. Ok write off. I can't afford it.

3. Then I went to Sitereportcard to check my pages download speed to make sure my visitors are enjoying bliss on my site.....not so good. Ok this I can deal with, I can further optimized my pics. Those are the culprits.

4. Re-checked my keywords and indeed some of their rankings has changed.

I am telling u this in case you may like to do a check too before you go any further. After all isn't this the reason we bought SBI to use their tools to help us while other hosting service do not provide.

Best wishes to all of you who are still working hard at this business as I am.

My thinking on this is if your follow the action guide the way it is written, you should not have to go back and re-think your steps. It sounds to me like you probably rushed through a couple of steps. That "mistakes" list is meant to show you what not to do when building your site. And you should have read over it in the beginning.

Did you try at all to get incoming links before you purchased the coaching help? Yes, it is a lot of work, but it's doable. And regarding the $299 price, I think it's fair. Link building for new sites is no easy task, that's why they make you pay for it. You are paying for the convenience of someone else doing the hard part for you.

Instead of having to re-think things a year down the line, learn from the other successful SBIers and follow the action guide step by step. It will save you a lot of time in the future.

The trouble with link building is that it should show a pattern of a growing number of high-quality, relevant links for Google and others to really appreciate your website. Having a big one-off boost can be seen as manipulative. For getting the ball rolling however, it's ideal provided you maintain some link building efforts.

A few simple techinques to keep links coming in.

* Sign up for Google Alerts on one of your main keywords and comment on the blogs which get featured in your daily alert.

* Copy come of your articles across to EzineArticles. Provided there is a direct link attribute to the original source, this isn't a problem with EzineArticles (as long as the article is yours) or Google. Check the EzineArticles.com blog for more details

* Link Exchanges; use the Value Exchange and then refresh your keywords to find new partners. It's great for establishing relationships too!

There is a thread in the SBI forums right now (I believe in the traffic stats section) where someone talks about the methods they used to go from zero to 1200 unique visitors a day in 6 months. Maybe you should check that out...

She mentions high page rank directories (some free, some not) for a good link building start...
