A Pretty-Face website
Hello all,
I'm preparing to launch a semi-dramatic "darkish" website about the theory of liberty. It's going to be image intensive with a bit of Flash.
Is SiteBuildIt a good way of doing this? Or is it for more of a text-based website?

Hey Shaun
Somehow I missed this post yesterday. My bad.
Is the whole site going to be done in Flash? If that's the case then I'd just use a regular web host. I believe you can upload swf files to SBI! but if you plan to use a lot of it I'd just use a regular host.
Also remember the whole purpose of buying SBI! is if you want to build traffic through search engines. If your site is written in Flash then the engines aren't going to find you and your pages won't really be SE friendly. That's really the whole purpose of buying SBI...to learn to build a site with traffic. So if you've got a bunch of Flash then I'm not sure it's worth it.

Ah, well, it will be mostly PHP and HTML -- the flash would be in one area. I meant that most of the website would be created through images (for example, the entire heading would be a huge logo). Is SBI! customizable to the extent that you can use templates that you've created yourself? I'm an SBI! noob, though I'll probably purchase it at some point in the next few weeks (through your link :P) because it looks so incredible.
For some reason, these two posts are pretty confusing. :P

Shaun, SBI! doesn't support PHP. If you're thining of doing basic logic on your site using PHP, then you wouldn't able to do that on SBI hosting. Thou SBI provides you with basic tools like forms and such so you don't have to write any server side code. BTW their tools are written in Perl.

Yep. you sure can use your own template. They have an "Upload your own HTML" section for people who are more advanced and/or want to use their own HTML instead of the provided HTML templates. Many SBIers use Dreamweaver, FrontPage and other editors instead of the provided Block-by-Block builder.

Ahh, okay. I'll probably still try SBI! out, just using HTML instead of PHP. If I end up not liking it, I can always return it. :P
Thanks all!
