Default Is SBI right for me

Hi, I own a small day spa and I would like to have a website for our services and want to sell our skin care and other products from our boutique. Would Sbi be right for me? It sounds like it works for other types but i have not heard much about current business owners.

It could definitely work.

I can think of at least one example: Dr Burch... he is a dentist, and has gained many many clients (even those who live far) because of his SBI site.

Check out his website... http://www.drburch.com

Hope this helps

Default would i call my website, the name of my spa

Would i call my website the name of my day spa? And if so would i only get people looking for a day spa? I have a boutique in the spa and want to sell my products but i would like to get people viewing my site in search of my products as well? I dont know if i have explained that properly but i would want to have people visit for the day spa and if they were looking for bath and body items, skincare etc. How would i do this?

If you are trying to promote a local biz, SBI! may suggest you use a domain like yourcity-day-spa.com. In other words you are trying to capitalize on people looking for a spa in your city.

Now, if you named it after your business name that's not to say you couldn't get traffic from people typing in "your city day spa" in Google. I guess part of it comes down to how important is branding to you versus naming your site after highly searched spa-related keywords. Either way, you can still get a lot of targeted traffic if you follow the guide.

But if you're going to use SBI! this is jumping the gun a bit. The whole point is to go through the Action Guide and after you're done reading the preliminary info, you'll have a better idea of what to name your site. That's the whole purpose of SBI!. It helps you do the research and understand how search engines work so you choose the best domain for your needs.

Hi pearlbaby

SBI walks you through the choosing of your Domain name and building content for your site. Maybe you might want to have the website set up for the beauty products and take the visitor through to see your Spa with pics and details?

SBI will break it all down into little bite size pcs. I had the same question do I use my business name or choose something that will attract lots of potential visitors/customers...............

If you decide to purchase SBI you will brainstorm your ideas first.

Hope this helps.

I recommend registering both!

If SBI guides you to regestering "mycitydayspa.com" or any deviation then do so as they know what would generate the most Google hits for someone that does not know your business name and is doing a generic search.

If your spa is called "Pearl Baby Day Spa" then I would also register "pearlbabydayspa.com" and "pearlbaby.com", if they are available. This way if people know your name they can easily type it in and find you that way.

If you register all three and SBI has you setup with "mycitydayspa.com" you can point the other domains to the same site. When they setup your website it is give a unique IP address. You can register additional domain names and have them point to that unique IP address. Domain names to IP addresses is a many to one ratio. You can have many domain names point to one IP address. The reverse does not apply.

With all that said if anyone were to go to "mycitydayspa.com", "pearlbabydayspa.com" or "pearlbaby.com" they would go to the same site.

This allows you one site but multiple ways to find you.

You should verify with SBI that they have not implemented something that would prevent this.
