Is it for me?

Our site has been, and continues to be, programmed (php) and designed by providers other than myself, and, in fact, what is required to do so is beyond my capabilities.

I'm wondering if SBI could be a tool that I use to brain-dump ideas on my own and then demo to said providers. Or would I need to be technically proficient in order to utilize it?

I look forward to any input and guidance.

Yeah, you could use SBI for that. You don't need to be technically proficient but there is a learning curve!

SBI is meant for creating a small business online and they have a ton of material to read about how to do that.

If your web site requires PHP or a database, you shouldn't use SBI, because they don't support it.

Thanks Jonathan. I didn't realize that PHP wasn't supported. That is something for met to consider when the time comes.

I didn't know that Jonathan thanks for that piece of information. But there will be a learning curve in anything you do that's new. You just have to take one day at a time.

PHP scripts are designed for 'dynamic web content' (blogs, forums etc.) - but there features can easily be added onto a Site Build It website. HTML 'static sites' build the foundation for all the extras. If you can build the traffic there, then you're efforts with blogging/forums will be far more successful.

The SBI servers at present don't accomodate PHP scripts, but you can use the Infin It tool to add third-party hosted plug ins (such as a Wordpress Blog, Forum, Shopping Cart etc.)
