Seeing some potential disqualifications already. If your design is in Flash make sure you've measured everything carefully since I cannot view your source. I will be using photoshop to judge height and width. Maybe my instructions were not clear but I'm a little disappointed in what I'm seeing thus far.

Just a reminder of the example....

Please check your width and height of headers, navs, etc. or some of you are not going to be happy when the contest ends. Some designs are hard to tell where the header stops (makes it hard to measure size for Flash sites), horizontal navs are in the wrong place/wrong size. Wow... maybe this wasn't a good idea. LOL Well I can't say there weren't enough warnings in this thread.

Just in case Lisa, I made this special layout so that it helps you see that my template follows your guidelines: http://www.knowledge-reactor.com/contest-borders/

    I've added border: 1px solid #FF0000; to all the main layout elements (#header, #headermenu, #leftnav and #footer)

I hope everything is as it should be.

Your instructions were clear. It is because I do not know about all that stuff. Well, it was fun anyway.

I've had a busy week and haven't made time to make my design. Maybe I can do it quickly tomorrow morning. We'll see! Either way, good luck everyone.

    Hi Lisa,

I want to suggest a Good measuring tool called Pixel Meter, or PMeter 1.3.
Its very easy to measure anything on your screen. Give it try.

Its freeware and can be downloaded from

    thanks.

    Here's mine: http://www.mario-kart.net/lisa

And here's my stylesheet to show the design is to the required specs: http://www.mario-kart.net/lisa/style.css

I think it came out to a nice simple design, but it pales in comparison to the full design, shown here: http://www.mario-kart.net/lisa/layout.png

I didn't want to enter the full design because I'm unsure if it would violate the copyright rule for this contest, even though Nintendo allows users to have their images on fan sites. Besides, I'm not done coding the full design. This contest kicked me in the butt to get started!

And I appreciate you taking note of the copyright issue.

Ok here is a sum up of all my links:

    www.knowledge-reactor.com/contest
    For Firefox and Chrome users

    www.knowledge-reactor.com/contest-ie
    For Internet Explorer users

    www.knowledge-reactor.com/contest-big
    For big screen resolution users

    www.knowledge-reactor.com/contest-borders
    One with outlined borders

At least one of them should probably work for every person. I didn't really have time to cross-browser optimize the template and I use a 15 inch monitor which is quite rare these days in the business world apparently sorry

And in the end, here is a screenshot how it should look

Well, the deadline is here but unfortunately there were only 4 entries that qualified. I said I would extend the deadline if I did not receive a minimum of 5 entries, but I don't believe that's really fair to those who entered. That also gives people who have not entered an unfair advantage so the voting will begin with the four that qualified.

If your post is still here then your entry qualified, if it's not then it was disqualified for not following all the rules and requirements.

I will create a new thread in the Announcement forum so people can vote. The reason it will be placed there is because not all members can see this forum and I want to open the voting up to as many members as possible.

NOTE: I will be taking screenshots of all templates. Any changes made from this point on will result in a disqualification!

McKnight, I sent you an email regarding your template so please get back to me asap. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who entered! This thread is now locked and closed.
