Question Google Penalty, is there a way to recover??

Hello fellow members of website babble

My website is no longer showing in the SERP. I guess I was hit with an update. I think I have over optimized my website. My question is, have any of you ever recovered from over optimization?? what did you do to overcome that??

    Thanks

Do you have a Google Webmaster Tools account? If so, login to see if there are any unnatural linking penalties. To my knowledge, over-optimization is not going to get you kicked out -- a lower ranking maybe, but completely de-indexed seems a bit extreme. Now unless you completely overdid the optimization thing, it could be something else.

So you did a search for "yourdomain.com" and nothing from your site shows up?

When I search for my website name which is picturepunches, the website is the first result. but when I search for Funny Pictures With Captions I use to be in the 2nd page, now I am not even in the SERP. So I assumed that it was over optimization because I have been doing SEO a lot lately. And yes I do have a WebMaster Tools account but it didn't tell me that I am over optimizing. I am just guessing ...

It's really nice to hear from you Lisa

have you tried typing site:yourdomain.com to Google query? If not you should do it to check if your website is still included in Google's index database. If your site got de-indexed, then mostly it's the end of your website in Google.

If not, then you should check all things that you've done especially within your website. Maybe you are not aware of somethings that could make your website slapped, Check all including your website structure, images, duplicate contents, impression, clicks, link profile etc.

My site is index, when I search for picturepunches it is the first one.But when I search for the keyword that I am optimizing for then it doesn't show up in SERP. So Iguess that I was slapped by Google. Lately I have been building links to my website just then when the site was slapped. Do you know how to recover from over optimization???

I am building links with "Pictures With Funny Captions" as my Anchor Text.
That is not really the intent of the question. Although it is worthwhile to vary the content of the anchor text some to get better results, the Google issues you need to think about are the methods you are using to get the links placed.

For example, if you are using some setups where people link to each other in an organized way or pay someone to do links on sites for you, many of whom spam blogs with useless content to try and insert links. There are many ways to try to get the links placed that can get you downgraded.

Check you site URL from copyscape tool and if you get any page with duplicate contents then change it and leave your URL for reindex.

Question - if your site is seen to have Spammy Content would Google still increase your PR ? Reason why I'm asking, I have seen a drop in some of my SERP's, but my PR has gone from a 4 to a 5 at the same time.

    Any ideas ?

Make sure you get rid of low quality backlinks only.Google PR is not panda or Penguin update to penalize him.It just make PR up and down.
Anyone want to know more from me just come to my site, this site just care about Anchortext in posts and not what people are writing inside.General stuff would never make you great.
GOOD BYE.DEAR ADMIN FEEL FREE TO BAN ME but do communicate it to him so that he got it.Bye bye.
