YouTube AdSense Earnings Down for January 2013
I started monetizing my YouTube videos with AdSense back in November of 2011 when YouTube opened up the program to more users. At that time they weren't calling us "partners" but over the course of the next few months they started to shift and refer to everyone who had a monetized channel as a partner, even though the newer partners didn't get all of the benefits that the older - more official partners have.
Since I was new to the program I didn't notice any drop in earnings back in January of 2012 but in January of 2013 I did see a drop.
Has anyone else experienced a drop in YouTube earnings when they compare December 2012 and January 2013?
Yes, in fact I'm planning to blog about this next week hopefully. Something is really going on with AdSense in general. My traffic has increased by 3000 daily uniques since November yet my AdSense earnings are the same. I don't really check my earnings daily like I used to and I happen to login to look at the impressions and noticed my impressions for one unit are not being reported correctly. This has been happening since last week.
So I went to the AdSense forums and people are complaining like crazy about lower AdSense and YouTube earnings. I'm also getting emails and FB posts about the same issue. Some people received alerts in their accounts about the reporting being down/not working.
Here's the thread.
Oh wow! I didn't know it was this widespread. Thanks for letting me know Lisa. I'll be waiting for more info in your blog post.
