I'd like to add my 2 cents about how fantastic WB is, and what it means to me.
I've always used WB as a springboard when I would run into something with my site I was unsure of. Whether it was with graphics, html, backlinks, adsense, whatever - this was my go-to place every time for reliable, priceless information!
In a nutshell, I went from being laid off in January of last yr while making just a few hundred dollars a month total on my site (so I was indeed panicked) to currently being able to support myself, as I have surpassed my previous salary from my 8-5 job! I could NOT have done that without the members of this forum, and of course LISA who was with me in many ways, from BEFORE day 1. (In 2007 when I googled how to create a website, I found Lisa's site - and her email address LOL - and the rest is history...)
Lisa, remember when I emailed you yrs ago and asked you how long it would take me to make a nice living off my site? (Um, who on earth can even answer that question!) And then when I emailed to say I had been a slacker but was fired (yes FIRED) from a job so lots of free time to work on it then so had tons more questions about how long it would take me.... and then 3 weeks later found another job and then became a slacker again... ANYWHO took me 6 months to pick a domain name, so you can imagine how long it took me to build just 30 pages. Ridiculous! So even though my site has been in existence officially since 2007, that doesn't mean it takes other sites this long to become profitable... esp. if they are worked on regularly and don't go MONTHS without being touched... anyway I digress.
I am wearing gym clothes and sipping ice tea while sitting in my condo at my adorable desk in my lavender painted office nook instead of wearing a suit (YUCK) while sitting at a presumably ugly desk in an office bldg which I most likely sat in 45 minutes or more of traffic to get to. It's called the rat race, and I am no longer a member
My point is, I am livin' the dream in very large part to the fantastic members of this forum, and Lisa, of course!
many heartfelt thanks to all of you! I will be seeing you around here more often, kicking off site #2 so watch out!!
    Liz
Not sure how I missed this post; great read and very inspirational. I am currently looking to move away from the Rat race onto my own portfolio of websites and being strong within the field of SEO I think it's easier than most people when they try (and are a novice) but nevertheless I am pleased you are making a real success of it.

Wooohooo! I've been living the dream too Liz. The way I made it work for me was by cutting my living expenses by two thirds. That took the pressure off so I had more time to dedicate to generating passive income. Can't wait to get a peek at the new site you are working on.

    Liz, what a wonderful story!!

Just so you'll know, I was planning to get married in May, but we've recently decided to push our date back. I often go to your site for inspiration and ideas. Keep up the good work!!

    Hi Liz,
It appears people are still following on your past success. Can you give us an update of how things have developed since then? You mentioned back in Sept 2012 that earnings have deteriorated.

Have the steps you took to address the decline been helpful?
