You're right on the mark whiteamiu. The problem comes in when you have a bunch of niche blogs/sites that need the high quality content. A few years ago I tried to keep 19 blogs going and almost fell off the proverbial writers cliff trying to keep them fresh.

But I do tip my hat to those that can sit and pound out new content on their keyboard.

There are lots of sources to get traffic online excluding Google search. First of all I will suggest you to add your blog on technorati. You can also use gest posting, social bookmarking, social networking, blog submission, feed submission, forum posting and email marketing to get traffic on your blog.

Those are all good ideas. You might also want to add

1. Google Webmaster Tools
2. Bing Webmaster Tools.

(I'm not that sure on if Yahoo is still in the game. )
That puts both Google and Bing on notice that you have something going.

For promoting the blog, you will come across many social bookmarking and networking websites on the net. However it is crucial to select the most authoritative ones and maintain a presence on them. Also, there are some forums / communities where you can feature your blog and ask people to review it. However, while doing so make sure that you are following the webmaster guidelines.

It's kinda sad but true Peeter but keywords are essential to making it in the marketing world. I have toned my KWs down quite a bit, about 2% of articles size. IE: 500 word article = 10, or less, KWs. Also, of those 10 KWs you should make some of them LSI related to the KWs. IE: 'Dog Training' KW. LSI maybe 'Puppy Trained'. It relates to the main KW.

It's not all that hard to do; just a bit of practice is all.

find the forums related your niche and post as many as you can per day.
but dont spam. give quality message realted to thread. these way you can get 1000 visitors per day if you post nice commets and messages.
