Can anyone suggest some good and affordable e-book software?

If you mean that you want to write and publish an e-book, the best thing to do is to write it out in MS Word and then convert it to a PDF file. Then you can you can just have people download it directly from your website. There are several PDF converters out there and I would recommend shopping around, but here's a trial version program from Adobe.

Thank you Mavedo. I considered Adobe but I was concerned about the price. It was quite expensive last time I checked. But I guess the good thing is that at least I know it's compatible with Windows and MACs. The other thing that concerns me about Adobe is that I wonder if it's easy to use. I'm assuming I do all the editing in Word and Adobe converts it but I've also heard of people having issues and graphics looking fine in Word but being off center when it converts to a PDF. You familiar with any of this?

Well the thing is unless you are planning to write several ebooks, you will probably only need to covert a file once. Otherwise you could buy a different, cheaper converter or use a different trial version.

As far as it being off center, I don't know. I never heard of that. Adobe might have the answer to that in their help/troubleshooting. So only download the trial version once you have your book is finished. That way if you do run into these kind of problem, you'll have time to fix them.

I use eBook Edit Pro - http://www.ebookeditpro.com It's very easy to use and you build your content in HTML. What's nice is that since the ebook software is HTML based, you can put AdSense ads in your book, stat trackers, etc. It functions just like a web browser.

The downside to it is that it is not MAC compatible so you will lose that audience. These days that's becoming a bigger issue because of so many people switching to MACs.

Thank you both! Mavedo, yes I understand what you're saying now. I guess it sounds like I need to decide over ease of use versus something that is more universal.

I use ebook edit pro too and I love it. My site is not up yet but I've been developing an ebook on my niche and started distributing to my friends and family. Works very nicely!

That was a wonderful doubt, ans as well commentary about the e-book software, i recently was using it fairly, but it sounds so interesting in its value of time in my own words. the very often time i cant see much of its efficiency, wel that was something, but i considered the PC having some fault. am now wondering of this software.
