Hey all,

I'm in competitive debate, where we have to research day after day after day. I've been considering creating a website that allows people to create accounts and host documents full of research that they can sell to each other for low amounts of money.

Basically, I'm looking for a program that mixes Google Docs with Amazon. :P Do any exist?

Not the I know of but you can go to rentacoder and have someone create a script for you. The nice thing about that is you can get it customized to your liking. Not sure how much someone would charge though.

This is just off topic but i just wanted to clear the misunderstanding of people using the word script. For something Shaun is looking for would be considered as web application not a script.

A script is a small piece of program to do one or two very specific things. For example, send automated emails to your visitors in the back end, collect email addresses of your visitors though a form, etc.

But when you add more functionality to a script to do multiple things it becomes an application. For example auto responders, Joomla CMS, wordpress blog as whole are examples of web applications.

I noticed that a lot of us use the word script for everything.

What Shaun is looking for is considered as an web application since it would allow people to do number of things using different modules working together packed as one package.

Thanks for the clarification Webdev. I for one know that I call everything a script ALL THE TIME!
