Default can you make money doing this?

This might sound like a dumb question to all of you internet savvy website builders. I happened to see a website yesterday, and their claim to fame was that for the low price of $29.99 , they would allow you to download a bunch of ebooks (some looked like they might be pretty interesting), Anyway the whole sales pitch was you could get these ebooks, build a website, and seel them, and make thousands of dollars.

It just sounded too good to be true...to easy. I was wondering if anyone here has seen ads like that one, or tried doing anything similar.

Thanks

Carl

Selling ebooks, affiliate marketing, whatever the monetization method is, you still have to take the time to build the traffic and get the targeted visitors. If you know how to do that then you can make money selling anything.

There are tons of sites out there that allow you to sell ebooks but most of them are virtually worthless books that I'd be ashamed to sell.

ppcFanatic, to sell anything on the internet you need targeted traffic and you would need build that traffic to your site yourself over time.

CORRECTION* <b>ppcFanatic is right.</b> To sell anything on the internet you need targeted traffic and you would need build that traffic to your site yourself over time. *

If i have traffic I would rather sell ebooks on the subject from amazon or something. It's about maintaining your credibility. If you have a website which is advertising worthless products then it could have an affect your reputation as well. You could lose traffic that way.

Sometimes it's best to create the ebook yourself. A lot of these sites offering reselling rights have products that are ummm... less than stellar as ppcfanatic said. Or there are products that can be found anywhere.

Allan Gardyne's free ebook that he gives away when you sign up for his newsletter subscription on http://www.associateprograms.com is a great example of truly offering something of good value. That book is totally worth an email address.

I've used a couple of his techniques in that book and it has improved my revenue from my sites.

Allan Gardyne taught me nearly everything I know about affiliate marketing. The guy is awesome and if you really spend some time digging through the articles on his site there is some really good info there.

To understand what kind of revenue can be earned through selling ebooks, you should take a glance at ebay. There are many people selling ebooks on ebay but they are not receiving very much money from them. They do, however, get charged every time they sell a book because ebay gets some of their money. Perhaps it would be a good idea to find some of the top selling ebooks on ebay that are selling resell rights and then create your own site with the targeted traffic and go from there.

I must say that it seems like it would be a challenge to get people to buy ebooks for any other purpose than selling ebooks. So to conclude it would probably be your best option to sell ebooks to people claiming that they can make money selling ebooks. </sarcasm>
