I think it depends on a lot of factors. I find with my sites that the ones with more inbound links and more frequent updates get crawled more often.

You can sign up with Google Webmaster Tools and submit your URL to see which of your pages are indexed and when your site was last crawled.

All depends on how much updating you do. Big sites like news sites are crawled hourly because there is always something new to crawl. Where small sites that dont update a lot are crawled often because it is a waste of time really since they already have the information indexed. So to get crawled a lot, keep updating your content.

Most of my pages are cached, which straight away tells me there last crawl date, without logging onto webmaster tools, however for a more detailed report you should refer to there. I don't get crawled much sadly need to build those incoming links..

There are more than one factor that affects Google's crawl rate, including:
relevant backlinks, content update, internal link structure etc.
