Default wordpress duplicate content

hi folks,

I realised that now I am using wordpress there are so many pages with the same content due to the way wordpress categorizes and logs previous posts in an "archives" section. I have managed to find a plugin that puts this tag on the dupe pages:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow"/>

I am hoping that this will keep google happy. Has anyone has any experience with this?

Check this out to find out about duplicate content and wordpress

Personally, I allow Google to index categories and tag pages. I think it's cool that a category or tag page can be found via a keyword...others disagree.

I think that if you use a Google site map it eliminates a lot of problems with duplicate content but don't quote me on that.
Here is the Site map plugin

Here is the only SEO plugin you will ever need

you can select what to NOFOLLOW. If you use all the features you'll get found quickly when people search...as long as you apply the basic SEO stuff

One of my blogs gets about 20 hits a day from search engine traffic...It's 1 month old and is routinely on the first page for long tail keywords. I post about 3-5 times a week. No, I don't write 3-5 articles a week. I use article directory content, news posts and a post of my own. From time to time I'll rewrite what i wish i'd thought of and have an opinion about.

It usually come out very different that what I started with.

Last thing go to Google webmaster tools and get verified it helps with them indexing pages.

Thanks for the post mike.. that page is helpful. I have started to block google from the tags and categories for now. This is my first site, I don't want to annoy google. I may have irritated them enough already with completely changing the URL structure, I just keep adding unique content a few times per week. I'll just see how it goes.
