Default google fell in love with me, then get bored

Half of my positions have disappeared from google.. I was getting a nice 10 hits per day from them, now I am not getting any.. Is this normal for a new site.. My site is around a month old now.

Peter, i think this is normal. Many people report falling out of Google index for few days and come back up.

Very normal for sites less than a year old. That has happened to me with every site I've created so far. I call it the Google test. Your rankings will be unstable for a while but just keep building content and prove to them you are continuing to build content and you'll be fine. Also keep working on those inbound links.

That's what is happening to me at the moment. Last week I was average about 50 visitors from Google, and now I'm not getting anything from the search engine.

I'll just keep creating the content and see what happens.

Something that believe in doing as the "Google Test" can take time, its down to trust. I never expect stable rankings from Google until at least 6-8 months, every site differs but its usually the time frame I see.

hope they come back soon. I have created a couple of pages each week and they have quickly been indexed. I have noticed what seems to be a pattern. I design a page, it gets ranked quickly under the relevant keyword(s), sends a few hits a day, then disappears from the listings completely. Anyone else experience this pattern?

Yes with Google thats expected. You could say its a mini Google test for each new page.

As you get more links back to your site you'll probably notice new fresh pages wont drop as many positions. Plus, they will start climbing back up again.

cool.. nice to know its a normal google thing. Sounds like I need to start working on my back links. Perhaps I should offer some link trades with other sites in my niche.

Personally I would stay well away from the link trading. Not only is it frowned upon by many but its also less quality than a one way link.

What you want is to find places that offer a chance of a free link back to you. Perfect example is this forum and your signature link. Other places include blogs or even article sites such as ezine articles.

An old saying to keep in mind, slow & steady wins the race. Dont fall for the trap that you'll need as many back links as possible, Google isnt stupid.

really? I did not realise it was frowned upon. I have been busy writing quality articles to submit to ezinearticles.com. I will continue with that. I am writing two articles, one for my site and one to share. I'm writing them both very differently to avoid any duplicate content flags. What do u think?
