Default new pages appear in google then disappear later

After building few back links (though dig and ezinearticles) to new pages i add to my php site, they would appear high in Google search ranking rankings (for related keywords) for few weeks and then disappear from google or significantly drop in google search rankings.

I can't seem to maintain the same position for any of the pages. For example, my php string page was getting my the highest google traffic to date but a week ago traffic to that page dropped to 0. Pretty confusing and worrisome.

I'm finding that adding more pages is not improving my traffic because as the traffic to new page(s) improves, the traffic to old pages decline. So, all its doing is maintaining the same traffic i had a month ago.

Anyone wanna shed any life to my dilemma? Don't know what to think at this point.

Google's just testing you out, my friend. Trust me, it's happened to all my sites. One week you rank #1 for one phrase then you drop off for a month or two. But overtime as you continue to build traffic and acquire backlinks Google will begin to see you are here to stay and your rankings will stabilize.

The customers in the SBI! forums are always claiming the same thing but that always happens with newer sites in the beginning. My flat stomach site used to have the same issues. Just hang in there!

I'm so relieved to hear that

I though that my google page rankings were dropping because the bounce rate to my pages is high. That may be the cause but i don't know.

Why my bounce rate is high, i have no idea but I have few theories. It's because the people who land on my page don't find what they looking for because they are looking for something really specific which i don't cover or they know enough about the topic.

Well bounce rate does play a factor indeed, but a lot of the fluctuations are because you are new.

One way to improve your bounce rate is to break down your site with questions like webmaster did on his easysiteguide site. "Are you a beginner? If so click here" or "Are you advanced and want to learn X, Y and Z then click here" I don't know much about PHP so I'm not sure what the best breakdown would be but it may help people find what they're looking for.
