Default Search Engine Traffic Increasing

Hi all,

Over the past month I have noticed that my traffic from the search engines (Google, Yahoo, Live, MSN) have increased drastically.

For this month (up to the 29th) I had 7,284 visits, which is an increase over the same period of time last month (4,837).

Google still provides the most traffic among the search engines, and the traffic from there has increased 53%.

My blog has been live for 11 months, so it is nice to finally see some nice traffic results.

That's good to hear TG (do you mind if I call you that?)

I've had a nice and steady increase since January. But I've noticed a huge jump in my page ranks for MSN. At least 10 of my pages have ranked in the top 20 all of a sudden. Before, they were all just indexed, but with no rankings. I still get most of my traffic from google. And I still have no luck with Ask. My home page was finally indexed by ask about 1 month ago, but still no traffic at all from that search engine.

I have a little over 14,000 visits for May, so I'm excited about that. I got 306 unique visitors a couple of days ago, which was my highest so far. So things are looking good here too.

Calling me TG is fine.

Before this month my leading traffic provider was Entrecard, but now I'm glad to see Google take the lead.

I also noticed that the number of clicks on my adsense increased with the increase of search engine traffic.

That is awesome TG and a further testament to what happens when you provide solid, quality content over a long period of time. Your blog is very useful so I see why you're getting some Google love.

A similar thing happened to my flat stomach site last January. I was averaging about 780 visitors per day (in total, not just from google) then all of a sudden Google fell in love with me and my visitors increased by about 400 uniques per day the next month. It's pretty exciting when that happens.

This is very encouraging to people who are struggling with traffic and a great example of what hard work and good content can produce! Way to go! I'm sure other members will see this as inspiration for their own sites and blogs.

grr...you people are making me look bad...I'm way out of your league...

But just for fun, I'll say my stats...

I had 2627 visits last month, and on average less than 100 visitors a day...

But I'm improving!

All the best,
Jim

I feel like I'm still in the pee-wee league at times.

It's still going. I average about 700-800 visitors a day. It's been a slow, steady increase in visitors.

That's great. Keep it going. Try to look for more ways to increase that traffic...PPC. If you put tech deals/rebates/coupons stuff (CJ.com) on your blog that be great. You can test that out quickly by driving PPC traffic to your blog. Just a thought.

I was thinking about that. I'll have to talk to you about that. I'll have to learn what I can from you.
