Ive been working really hard to become the top search results for my keyword.
My site has been the top 2 search results (one my home page & the other the forum) for nearly a month now.
Yesterday however the sites below mine took the top spots, not only that my sites flew all the way bak to the 4th page of google search results. After a month at the top i cant believe me ranking would drop this much?
Is your site fairly new? (less than six months?) If so you are probably in what some SEOers call "The Google Sandbox". Your rankings will fluctuate for a while and this is normal. When I first launched 2create my rankings were all over the place. One day I'd be on page 2 then for 3 months I'd be back on the 1st page then I'd drop again.
Just keep building content, good backlinks, don't try changing too much and you should reappear. I wouldn't worry about it much.

See there? Just a little patience. That means you passed the test. LOL Google must've just done another big update. I found a couple of copycat sites I've been keeping an eye on and one dropped from the first page to the 5th and the other has disappeared.

Ahhh sadness... the day has come where every single one of my pages that were nice and bold and under the 30 mark have just been bitten by the Google spider- oh sigh!
Now my whole SBI Search Engine HQ is plastered with >30... sniff sniff
I will continue to plug along and hope that this is simply a temporary setback, but I must say it is a shocker!
Kerry, don't fret. It's something we all have to go through. I always say "Google is just testing you." Keep building good content and promoting your site. Your rankings will return.

I remember going through that. It is discouraging at first, but keep writing and you will be back up in the rankings in no time.
Once of my posts shows the traffic from my first year, and you can see where Google dropped me from the rankings because the number of search engine visitors dropped significantly. It didn't last long, however, since I continued to write more content.

That happened to me and I was so bummed. I went back up in Google but am still nowhere to be found in Yahoo.
