Default My Wife's Blog is Listed in Google

Hi all,

In January my wife started a blog and published one post. She had done nothing on the blog since then...no promotion, viewing or anything.

This past week she made two more posts to the blog, and once again didn't do anything else to it.

Just for fun I decided to check Google to see if any of her posts were listed. When I searched Google all three posts came back in the search results.

I thought it was interesting how people try so hard to get listed, use every trick in the book and still don't get listed. My wife does absolutely nothing, knows nothing about Web site management, or SEO and her blog gets listed.

Google is funny that way.

So the lesson here is "Less is more with SEO these days." That is kinda funny. You're right though. I think of the people stealing other people's content and/or employing crazy linking schemes and never see a visitor.

Tell her congrats! Heck, a few more posts and she ought to apply for AdSense!

The same thing happened to me. I started a blog one month ago today, and I checked last week on google only to see that every post I have made is listed based on topic. It's an awesome feeling.

TechieGuy, just curious. Is her topic very niche? (Not asking for specifics on what it's about but just in general)

Default Interesting!

TG,

Interesting that you're saying that because I did a similiar search under my computer blog and it's listed as well. What's even more interesting is the fact that my blog is linked on a website called Neseek under WinXP tune-up which is kinda cool to see-

Lisa: She started the blog on dollhouses (the kind you put together and decorate), but she has decided to include scrapbooking since she likes to do both. I wanted her to focus on scrapbooking, but she has decided to include both - sort of a creative blog.

rwskate: I noticed that your blogs are also in Blogger. I wonder if that has anything to do with it since Blogger is owned by Google. It didn't take long for my Blogger blog to be listed as well.
