Default From Sherry - Getting Found with 19,000 Keywords

Hi Lisa, Me again,
I hope you know how truly invaluable you are to us newbies out here............
Anyway, on your site in "Untold Adsense Facts" you mentioned you have
19,000 different key words related to the flat stomach site you have. This probably sounds dumb, but how did you get that many? And where did you find them? Did they come out of the content you had written already?
And how do people link to you through those words.
You know, do you provide that link somehow?
Still in 'A SITE LEARNER'S BRAIN FOG'..............
Thanks,
Sherry

If you look at webstats with programs eg. Awstats etc. then you can see with what keywords your visitors came to your site

One of my site have over 3000 keywords in top 10 - 20 in all major search engines

The keywords will be in your content

This is just from my existing content. The Web stats that SBI! provides totals up the number of different keywords you were found for in a month. So that's where that number came from.

So out of my 40+ pages, I get found for 19,000 different keywords. For my other site that number would probably be higher (I just don't have the stats to calculate it) because 2create gets almost double the traffic.

Here's why that happens. An article is filled with dozens of keywords right? Some keywords you may be consciously trying to rank high for and then there are the others that you get found for because they aren't as competitive.

Say you write an article about aromatherapy and you're targeting that term. "Aromatherapy" gets you the most traffic because the content is obviously focused on that main term and perhaps you have other pages linking to that page using the term.

But in that article you may also mention "stress relief". Google or any other engine may determine your article is somewhat relevant for that phrase too so you could also get found for that phrase. You may not rank as high but you can still get found for multiple keywords in one article.

I didn't consciously try to do this. It just happens when you write content and it's a wonderful thing. I'm sure everyone else here experiences a similar thing. You will too once you have traffic.

I'm glad you posted this question because I've seen a lot of people try to copy my concept (that's what I get for publishing my success ) because they think they need to create a site about flat stomachs or something similar to get the same kind of success and traffic I do. But the truth is, this concept works with multiple niches if you build up enough content.

Ok, great, Lisa, Again you come through quickly.
I keep clicking on your site to help me. I've probably helped in a small monetary way to your paycheck. Actually maybe a lot. Ha! I practically live on here after work! Clicking and checking, again and again. And showing a friend about it. And clicking , looking yet again!
Such a help for me!

Thanks Sherry. But be careful with clicking people's AdSense ads (Is that what you meant?) because you can get us publishers in trouble if Google sees clicks from the same IP address over and over again. But I do appreciate you spreading the word about my site.

Ok, I think I found the topic I am wanting to ask about. This is to anyone who is successful using keywords to generate traffic. I am really struggling in this area. I need to ask a couple of questions.
  1. How many keywords to use? I use Word Tracker and love it. So for example I do a search within Word Tracker for "poker". I am wanting to write an article on "poker hands". Here are the keywords I found:
    1. what beats what in poker
    2. ranking hands for poker
    3. poker hand rankings
    4. poker hands
    5. winning hands in texas holdem
There are other keywords I could have listed but are too many. Now how many keywords should I use?
  2. How many times should I use the second, third, fourth keywords, etc... This is area where I struggling. I believe I am to use my primary keyword anywhere from 2% to 10% within my article. I would appreciate any help you are willing to give.
