I think it will be keyword specific, but i don't think anyone really knows for certain, apart from G.

It's a collective thing. One visitor is not going to make much difference but if 70% of your traffic that finds you in google with that keyword tends to stick around longer then yes, it can help with your ranking for that phrase I believe.

Hello Lisa,

I agree with your logic as it makes lots of sense and considering Google, I think it will be the solution they may be loking at.

Thanks for your reply.

Forget link building, keyword density etc. just focus on writing quality content. your ranking will sort itself out. Go back to the basics which is writing quality content. People themselves will link to your site.

Yes, Google is looking at time spend by users on webpages. Coming back to my earlier point. If you have quality content then people will stay longer on your site. Stickiness factor.

SEO is alive and well and I can prove it with some my own sites and clients sites that I've worked on.

I think it all depends on how you define SEO.

In the early days it was quiet easy. You had to have the wright keyworddensity, some nice metatags and description and lots of backlinks. That was it.

Now you have tons of factors you have to take into consideration.

But saying "build up a site with good and relevant content which is interesting for the user and you archieve a good ranking" is wrong. At least for hard keywords.
