Default Finding out how many searches are made

Is there a website (that anyone knows of) that can tell you how many searches any given keyword has done? For example, it can tell you how many times the phrase "pumpkin pie" have been Googled?

You can use overture free tool which is owned by Yahoo.
http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/

another free tool from wordtracker
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

Both tools will give you an overview of how many people searched for that key word. Along with related keywords and phrases to your search phrase

I thought the overture tool was taken offline and only made available through Yahoo Search Marketing. I honestly didn't realize it was back online. Maybe it was just down for a while. Cool.

Well, I found out some bad news. The basic keywords for one of the websites I'm working on gets about 20,000 views per month. 0.0

Does this program take into account Google and other search engines? How does it track the searches?

Shaun,

I have good news. The main keywords I targeted for my web hosting site only got about 3,000 hits per month and I still get plenty of traffic.

Remember, once you start creating content and adding pages, you will build articles on tons of topics related to that main keyword so you'll draw in traffic for thousands and thousands of different keywords.

Let's say you are targeting "chocoloate desserts" When you build your site, you will also build more pages on other related topics (pies, cakes, truffles, etc.) so you will begin getting ranked for many, many, other keywords... not just the main one you're targeting.

So 20,000 is actually not a bad number at all. In fact it's very good. I'm not sure about WordTracker but the Overture/Yahoo tool is only taking into account Yahoo searches, not the entire Internet. I read somewhere you should take that number and multiply it by 30 to get the true number of monthly searches.

yea, even my targeted word "learn php" had few thousands clicks in overture and wordtracker. Doesn't seem like a realistic number because i know there must be more searches for this keyword. I always wonder where wordtracker get their data from? What search engines they take in account?
