You might want to be careful with directories that does not have any ranking in google, too many links from these might hurt your site (get yourself landed among these group of sites), seo people believe that these links carries minimum value in google / Yahoo.

Yeah foong is definitely right, you will certainly get more inbound links thus increasing your pagerank and your crawl rate; however you are manipulating the google bot and i guarantee it has that website on file and all its directories as soon as they appeal, my advice stay to well known directories such as DMOZ and stick with it, It wont increase your traffic much just your inbound links.

Inbound links will come over time. Try not to worry too much about inbound links when you start. You should concentrate on your content. As more people enjoy your content, then you will start see the inbound links.
