Do you get penalised for having 'doorway pages' ?

I've got a site that has very little text on the front page so I'm using a doorway page that is a common mis-spelling of my domain. ie. my domain has the word friends in it and my 'doorway' is the same but with freinds in it.

Will I be punished in google rankings for this??

Black Hat SEO is only used when someone wants to make a temporary website and capitalize on a changing market. For example even during a season. A couple of weeks before Christmas someone might decide to throw up some contest, adverts and affiliate products then use black hat SEO to get tons of traffic and make good money.

I never really knew the point either but I do know allot of people make crazy money by using these techniques.

Personally I would rather play by the rules and stay on Googles side.

Black hat isn't sustainable and it's all about 'jumpin through the loopholes'. The concept is entirely driven around finding those loopholes, exploiting them whilst staying out of Google's line of sight.

For many, this is perhaps too much effort going in the wrong direction but business is business and if someone can find something that works they'll do it right? Why do you think eBay is infested with scammers from Nigeria ordering PS3s? Because for every hundred they try, the get a PS3 shipped.

Noticed that keywords plays very important role in search engine rankings. A good site will not be recognized if not optimized with the right keyword.
