What is Google Sandbox?

hi,

I read around in a few forums and blogs about this term "Google Sandbox". Does any one have any idea as to what this term means ?

The Sandbox is a phenomenon that people have claimed to observe in the ranking of web pages that is performed by Google. It is the subject of much debate. Its existence has been written about but not confirmed, and several observers state that they have observed the contrary to what is claimed for this perceived phenomenon.

If your site can be found with the site:yourdomain search but it doesn't come up in serps then you are in the sandbox!

A sandbox is usually an open development term when a software or a game is under development and opened for public so that people can go in there, build stuff, delete stuff or just plain play with the features and send feedback for bugs.

Google has recently opened a public sandbox for their new Search Engine Algorithm called Caffine. It can be reached at: http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ and it's basically a sandbox version of a search engine where people can see how their sites rank with the new Algorithm.

I do tried it but i am ranking same like i am ranking in google for targeted keywords. so is it like they are using same algorithm for both?

It's a new algorithm. They just said that some sites might be getting same results while others might be changed ... you are just lucky your sites SERPS are the same

Interesting explanations but i'm still none the wiser. Is it 'the leaders' explanation or Mcknights or is it both?
