Default adwords charged me $55 for no clicks?

I recently opened an ad campaign with adwords. This is my 3rd campaign.

Today while checking my credit card statement, i was surprised to see google adswords charged me $55.31 for the new campaign.

The funny thing is that the report shows no impressions and no clicks for my new campaign and the total campaign expense is $0 so far. I immediately deleted the campaign and emailed their support for an explianation.

It seems they trying to be clever and think that people don't notice these kind of things. Has this ever happened to you?

That's strange. I've only used Yahoo Search Marketing so I can't say I've had this experience. Are you sure there wasn't a delay in the click reports?

Hmm that doesn't sound like something Google would do...

When you have a new account, they give you $50 credit... your card on file gets charged if you reach that amount or after 30 days of opening the account.

(After that, your credit increases from $50 to $100 and the same thing happens... you pay it if you spend $100 in ads or after 30 days... And then your credit increases to $250, i think, etc... I think the credit they give you maxes out at $500)

Have you, maybe, accumulated $55 worth of clicks from the first 2 campaigns? Maybe it was a coincidence that you reached $50 in ad spend or it has been 30 days since you opened your account, so you were charged the fee right after you started your third campaign.

I am not sure if I am making any sense, but I hope you get what I mean.

Default Adwords Google Reply

Google is a pretty reputable company. However it is hard for one to keep track of every little detail. It may just be something you over looked as mention by other posters. I found it to be more beneficial to hire a PPC advertising management company. I am working with ppcgeeks.net and it is less of a hassle for me. They are a reputable company and I feel very secure with their service.
