I need some help choosing some keywords I am already signed up but the whole process confused me so I ended up picking real competitive keywords with a budget of 0.15 cents per click. And my daily budget is 70p. Google said that would get me doing well but it is not and reading other articles it needs to be much higher. I don't have that much of a budget and am trying to advertise www.developersmatch.com I need to promote it to clients and get them to sign up and make use of my service. It is completely free for them.

There are a few things you can do to help with your key words and adwords on google.

Edit your key words example website = broad match
"website" = exact match
-website = dont match this word
Negative key words can be helpful in controling your budget -website
The best google option i have found is placements, you can use a lot of key words that you may not be able to afford thru search but they will still trigger your placements. In your ad group tabs you will see placements use the tool to build a list of placements and set the destination urls. Also use the display ad builder these are working great for me dont forget to set your destination url. Scheduling is another tool you should use this will limit the time of day and number of days you choose to run your ad. Also make text ads for each key word all these options can be scheduled and or paused to control budget because you will have to raise your budget and limit the run time. One last suggestion set your bids on each keyword this way you can push one or two words hard with a bigger budget on these words here is an example of a key word with bid and url
