Default Hi Everyone!

I've been going trough 2createawebsite and links provided all night as I didn't get any sleep. I got kinda hooked to the idea of earning while doing what I like most, I decided to stay awhile at this forum and learn how to do it. So, Hi!

I want to say that this is excellent site to learn some basics of how to start a successful website, you've done really good job, Lisa. All other sites are just so full of crap that you can hardly get anything useful out of them.

About me a bit then. I'm not completely stranger to making a website. I tried to make my first webpage I think 6 years ago with FrontPage, year or two after that I got into PhotoShop also. Soon after that I discovered Dreamweaver too. Been making websites and graphics for friends and myself ever since. I just never thought of making money with it. Thats why I'm here now..
I got plenty of time and some experience including website making, so I hope this all works out

Default Welcome MC

Welcome to the forum MentalClinic. I am a new member myself but already feel at home...

I pretty much started out like yourself and began designing websites for fun around 2000. Fortunately, I found my first paying client soon after and I've been doing it ever since. There's nothing like working from home and having time to do the things you enjoy when the majority are stuck at 9 to 5's listening to piped in "elevator music". Now there's nothing wrong with a 9 to 5 and I know a few people who would hate to work at home and miss out on what's going on at work...but that's not for me.

You mention in your post that you have made graphics and sites for friends. Maybe you could begin getting referrals from them for paid work? All my business has been from word of mouth and referrals and I even have my own "affiliate program" where I tell my friends that I'll give them a 10% commission on any new clients they pass my way. I've gotten a few clients like that and my friends have walked away with a nice chunk of change for talking me up. It's a win-win all around.

MC, I have no doubt that you will learn a lot from this forum and hopefully will soon be making a decent living off your "labor"... Take care and all the best.

Hi MentalClinic (love the name! LOL)

You started out a lot like I did. I created my first 4-5 sites with FrontPage, then learned Dreamweaver and Photoshop and in the process discovered the money-making possibilities.

It's good that you've gotten the basics of website building down so you can now focus on the Internet marketing side of things now. Glad you're here and look forward to chatting with you!
