Default Hello

Just a quick note to say hello. I spotted this forum on Facebook so thought I should drop by and join up.

I currently work full time for Ireland's largest web host, just for the heck of it. In my spare time I create sites, perform SEO and fool around with affiliate programs.

Hopefully I can help bring some valuable help to the forum...

Welcome Gavin. Glad to see I'm getting some mileage from that Facebook activity. What sort of affiliate programs do you fool around with? No need for specific names if you don't wish to share but do you normally just use the networks (CJ, LinkShare, etc.) or a variety?

Good to have ya here.

Hi Lisa. I am sure I recognise you from somewhere, 5 Star Affiliates?

Some of the affiliates I'm in is Amazon, LinkShare, CJ, Adsense and a few other smaller ones. I also use travel affiliates for my travel niches.

I've just joined http://www.adjug.com/, not sure if you have ever heard of them?

Hey Gavin,

Yup! I post there quite a bit!

Never heard of ad jug but I'll check it out.

Ahhh, so this is a lot like AdBrite.com. Let me know how you like them. I'm starting to find there are some things about AdBrite I do not like. It's inflexible when it comes to certain aspects and was shopping around for another solution. Plus, when there are no paid advertisers, the ads aren't very well targeted. I think it's due to limited # of advertisers.

To be honest Lisa I haven't played around too much with Adjug however, I do like their concept and backend system.

I'm also in agreement with your points on Adbrite and its probably why I do not use their system any more. Their PPC traffic converted very bad with the likes of Azoogle and any ads I see are really badly targeted.

Adjugs for me at the moment is very badly targeted, I am seeing a lot of charity ads on my SEO blog. Maybe there is more I need to test before I can see their potential (if any).

Oh and thanks for the welcome Sherif.

Yup. And the only reason I use AdBrite is to allow other people to advertise on my site, not for the contextual ads. I'll stick to AdSense when it comes to that as they have been the best for my site.

I've been seeing the same for my sites too. I think it will take a lot for someone to really compete with Adsense.

Thanks webdev & Lajocar.
