Hello NewMama and welcome to the friendly forums! One question though...why limit your information to one city? Wouldn't you be alienating people who may not live in your city and just want exercise/fitness info?
My point is when you decide on a niche for your site you have to think like how people search in Google for example. In other words what keywords are you trying to target? I would guess most people type in things like "losing baby weight" or "getting into shape after pregnancy". So my point is how would you target people in your area.
For example let's say you live in Los Angeles and you are going to make a site about places to go in L.A. to exercise. That's great but do most people who search for losing weight after a baby look at city specific information? My point is I don't want you to make your niche too narrow that you alienate people because I think it's a great topic.
Here's a good tool to find what people are searching for and the keywords they use?

It's very important to research how people use the net before making your topic final. Otherwise no one will find you or if someone searches for "losing baby weight" and see that your site only focuses on one city they may leave. Why not expand that to everyone?
Just my 2 cents...
