Hey Everyone,

I have been a member of this board I think from the very beginning. This board helped me get started with my first content site (php-learn-it.com) which was a success in its own way.

6-7 months after I moved away from site building and got into performance marketing, called PPC (paid advertising, another name for it) which I'm sure everyone's heard of. I've been doing that for a while (probably one year now), just learning one step at a time and now doing over $700 a day with PPC. With my recent success, I also started a blog now called niche-affiliate-marketing.com

The reason for creating this post is to show you guys that if you keep working hard at your affiliate business, you will get lucky one day. I wasn't making this kind of money before. In fact I was barely doing $100/mo 4-5 months ago. But sometimes when you keep going at one thing, you will get lucky eventually. You might come across something that works for you by total accident, or might make personal contacts with someone in this industry who can personally guide you. I mean anything can happen. You just have to keep working at it.

Anyhow, I'm here to answer any questions. I'm not here to endorse or sell anything. Just thought I come by to the board which helped get started

I needed to take a break from the routine and try something new. Thou i liked the whole concept of building informational content sites, doing SEO and driving organic traffic, the work you put in and the slow building nature of this business model just didn't suit me. I wanted get my earning higher. I'm looking for big earnings and PPC was just another thing out there that I kept on reading about.

I sold my site and got into PPC. I lost money for the first 6 months or just broke even but kept on going when finally 3 months ago, I got my first successful campaign going which brings me $700 a day. This month will be my biggest month over $15k.

I've built my own recipe that works for me and in PPC world, things are tough indeed. Out of 10 campaign you put up, only 3 will have any chance of making anywhere. Plus the learning curve is steep and there no way of learning this for free. You have to spend money on advertising, try different offer, niches, methods of promoting before you start to see what works.

But its doable. If you keep working at it. You guys will see in the PPC section of this forums. I'm here to help out but keep in mind it all boild down to your efforts at the end.

I've retrieved from content sites and SEO (al least for now)

That's awesome. The great thing about being able to master PPC is that once you figure out the formula, profitable keywords, etc. there is so much money to be made. Many of the big time affiliates you read about are making 7 figures mainly because they've mastered PPC. I attended a session at the Vegas Affiliate Summit this year on PPC and many people there were making extremely large amounts of money. I wish I had the patience to work through it and figure it out because the money can be GRRREAT!

That's right Lisa. Getting your campaign going takes the longest and is the hardest. Once you get a set of keywords going, you just scale it up further from there, get more keywords, expand to other search engines and so on. When it comes to keywords also, the key is to start with a big list of keywords. I'm talking tens of thousands of keywords and just weeding out the bad ones.

But I also want to point that every niche is different. Every niche have its own formula. For examples, same technique for landing pages in dating niche will not work for say in credit report niche and so on.

Good points, webdev. I met someone at the Affiliate Summit who makes a solid living like yourself off PPC and he was telling me that he literally has to monitor every single click. And I'm not just talking about the obvious -- clicks from the search engine to your landing page and checking your ROI. He had written his own tracking programs that track various things like the entire visitor pattern (how many links each person clicks on the landing page before the person buys, etc.)

He said that he knows the right ad spot (position) that converts the best and if his ad moves from that spot, it's time to update the bid to get back that "sweet spot" as he calls it. He walked me through a day in the life of a PPC marketer and it involved literally checking his campaigns multiple times per day, analyzing stats, etc. I'm assuming you have similar patterns of data collection.

I don't think people realize the amount of work and detail that is involved in mastering PPC. I'm always amazed and admire folks who have taken the time to learn the system. And as you said, it varies from niche to niche.

Excellent points webdev and Lisa. I don't think there is no step-by-step formula for PPC. It's about testing and improving. And like you guys pointed out, it varies by niche... many aspects of succeeding with PPC depends on understanding the mentality of the searcher.

One of the most important requirements to succeed in PPC is NOT QUITTING! Right, webdev?

I know I have said this before, but I am really so happy for you, and I am really glad that you've posted your update! Keep up the great work!

Yep! You have to keep going at it if you want to strike big and it's almost guaranteed that you will hit big if you keep going and keep trying out new things. Once you hit it big, the window of new business opportunities just gets more bigger and wider
