Hi folks, I just joined the group. I have been around computers for the last thirty years. I like to use Linux and like learning programming languages. I wanted to sniff out the web industry and try to decide if this is a good fit for me. Also, I want to learn how to plan my strategy for my web site that I will build for my sprinkler service buisness that I have. Happy New Year

The options are so many that there is always a good fit, although sometimes it is a bit difficult to identify.

Building an effective site for a local business is fairly easy. The trick is to get good search results, but even there the competition is not to hard to beat more often than not. I have a local small business that gets two or three listings on page one for most of my keywords even though there is quite a bit of competition. It just takes a little work and learning the basics of SEO.
