Hello from Boston!

Hi everyone!

I just discovered these forums a couple of days ago -- someone on the SBI forums mentioned Lisa! I'm happy to be here and to get to know you all!

As far as internet stuff goes, I'd consider myself intermediate level, I guess. I'm transitioning my SBI site out of the template into full CSS/HTML, and I have another SBI site waiting in the wings, which I can now develop completely on my own! I have a husband who is a web programmer, so I have a bit of an advantage -- an in-house help desk!

We just relocated back to the Boston area last fall, and I'll be starting a FT job at MIT in July, so I only have a couple more months to get in lots of work on my sites before my days aren't my own... I'm trying to make the most of it!

Hi Kim,

Good to have you here. I just transitioned my SBI! site out of the block by block builder and designed it in Dreamweaver so if you have any questions just let me know. I'm so glad I did it. It's nice to have more flexibility with the design.

Congrats on your new job.

There is a lot of great information here and I'm happy to have found another real, genuine community of people helping each other learn and succeed (like you said, webman!)!

Lisa ~ thanks! I don't have anything as fancy as Dreamweaver at this point. I'm on a Mac and currently trying out Rage WebDesign, which is a freebie. Some of the other free ones weren't cutting it for me. Next on the list is doing some custom SBI includes for affiliates and Google Analytics.

PS ~ could someone explain trackbacks to me?

A trackback is a link that allows webmasters/authors to be notified if someone is linking to their content. So if you link to one of the threads on this forum using the Trackback link I will be notified. Trackbacks are common with dynamically generated sites like forums, blogs, and sites created with other content management systems.

Welcome to the forum. Maybe your SBI! site will take off and you won't have to work outside of the home for very long. That's my goal.

I want to be like Lisa..... except for the woman part. I would be a very ugly woman

Welcome to the family GeekChick. I'm an SBIer also, there seems to be many of us gathering here.

I love the piano, I played for a number of years a life time ago. Mine just sits there now, I hope to start again one day.
