Chicago girl, totally clueless

Hi Lisa and babble members. I had to join after coming across Lisa's videos on you tube. I have always been interested in having my own website,but being clueless about everything made it impossible for me. Listening to the way Lisa put things together just gave me the courage to take at least this first step. I'm gonna keep it real with you all, I'm broke as broke can be right now. Due to an injured back I have been out of a job for a year now. It will probably be some time before I can start to build my own site. In the other hand I am interested in learning as much as I can. I have never felt so good about anything like this till now. I'm hoping to make great friend here that will be helpful for me in the future. Thanks to all.

Being broke is a temporary condition, not the same as being poor which is a debilitating attitude. I'm glad to hear you are only broke. That will pass.

Fortunately what you need to get started on the internet doesn't have to cost you anything. In addition to this site, go to w3schools.com where you can learn some html and css. Some knowledge of these are essential for working with sites and the tutorials there are up to date and excellent.

Don't be overwhelmed with all the other stuff there that web developers use. You won't need them, at least for a long time.

You can download for free a program like NoteTab to edit your work. Then there are free hosts that you might not want to use forever (because of ads) but you can use them while learning. So you don't really need any money to get started.

When you start looking ahead and not back you will soon find all of your life looking better.

Rob, yes i been reading some articles from SBI! that's what makes me want to do this. I still have to read Lisa's ebooks. I think I'll do that next.
