Default Hello From Iowa

Hi all,

Came across your forum and really like it.

I have a bit of a confession to make. I came here because I would like to find several webmaster forums to get involved with because that really helped me to build my first business and I want to build my new business.

I found, several years ago, that the best way to build a business online is to get involved, help people whenever you can, and show a bit of class and respect.

I read your sticky, Lisa, and believe my intentions fall within your guidelines, but if I'm wrong, please feel free to delete my account. No hard feelings.

I know this is probably a weird way to introduce myself, but I'm a firm believer that it's best to just be real with people.

Warm regards,

Why on earth would I delete you? And I wish more people would get that. I think forums are a great way to help others while still promoting your business. You gain respect through your useful information you post and people are more likely to visit your site.

So many spammers think coming on a forum and posting one advertisement is the way to get traffic. Not only will it get your post deleted but most people know spam when they see it and are certainly not going to visit the spammers site.

Being real with people is one of the best ways to build credibility and that's the approach I've taken online and it's worked. You are never going to please all the people all the time (as the saying goes) but if you value your integrity, be honest and stay true to yourself, it's hard to go wrong.

Welcome, by the way.

Hi Larry,

Honestly, I do not see anything wrong with your approach. We all help each other here; inherently, it's a give-and-take relationship.

Nothing wrong at all, in my book, with helping out others, while showing class and respect. In fact, I personally wish more people made a conscious effort to do that.

Welcome to Website Babble!

In my opinion you provide a shopping cart to help others and providing a useful service that I know a lot of webmasters are in need of as Lisa said posting an advertising an dropping your link is not the way to go about promoting your product. But you have shown a very 'human' and friendly approach with nothing wrong at all.

P.S Welcome to Website Babble and I hope you enjoy your stay.
