A Message to Newbie's

This is a great place if you are just getting started.

I came across this site while investigating CSS, don't get me wrong I too am a newbie. But in searching for a template for my site I soon knew that I needed to know basic CSS in order to customize the template. After arriving I probably looked at all of Lisa's videos so I knew I was in a good place.

What I did next was crazy, the next time I needed "help" I jumped on Google which gave me 120,000,000 options. After checking the first 20 or so and clicking and searching and checking and clicking I clicked my way right back here. I forget what I was researching then, I think I was looking for "free" templates...that was about a month ago.

I found my "free" template and have been working with it for a few weeks. Yesterday I was trying to manipulate the template to have the look on my front page different from the rest of the site; no luck. Played with CSS using the things I learned here; no luck. So I asked someone I met at a WordPress Meetup group and she suggested that I look at Flexx and Thesis, both with premium customizable templates.

This morning I Google'd Thesis, when I got to the site I found a testimonial from our own Lisa.

All roads lead to Lisa...

If you are trying to build an online pressense and have any questions, come here, to Lisa's House first. Don't waste your time like I did, if you can't find your answer here you will be pointed in the right direction. She is very smart and has great friends all willing to lend a hand.

Wow. Great results for you Lisa. She did it all right. But as she says she has been doing this for a while and has put in her share of work. It doesn't happen overnight. With the right planning and effort she is a big success. Kudos Lisa.

Yes, I initially checked Lisa out in February 09, actually searching the internet for sound concrete information I could trust I ran into this site. I was so impressed with her straight forwardness, and to tell the truth I couldn't find anyone else that offered all the information to us without charging. That's what make her stand out. She's not soliciting a partnership, she love what she does, it's all over her site. That's a BIG statement.

I read something from Copyblogger recently where several successful bloggers were mentioned and I remember thinking, why wasn't Lisa included in this list. I must admit, I felt "some kinda way" so, thank you Ilene, for posting that and "Congrats, Lisa".

All roads do lead to you, I started my search on YouTube for website tutorials and found you. My most favorite Lisa quote from a tutorial "....I've got pretty tough skin". LOL!
