Default Content Question

I have a question on content. How often should a website be updated with new content? A week, twice a week? Is there a 'set rule' for this or whenever you feel like updating or adding something? Just wondering how some of you are doing it.

Frequent updates are good to keep people coming back, but there's really no standard answer for that. Obviously the more useful content you add the better, but there is no one rule on how often is best. Just as long as you update it at somewhat regular intervals you should be fine.

One cool thing is to add news feeds to your site. For example, if you have a site about TV technology (HD, Plasma, etc.) you could post news articles about the latest news. Since this industry is changing frequently and always has something new, obviously a site like this would benefit from frequent updates.

For my blog I try to update at least three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). I would like to update more, but my work and home life take up much of my time. Everyone has different priorities in life, so the number of updates they make will differ.

Try to update your site with new content as often as you can to keep your visitors coming back for more.
