Hi! My name is Dan, and I am very much a beginner at setting up a website.
I have established my site and it is a kind of directory for schools in Australia. What I would like to do is set up a search for customers to find schools by typing in a suburb and the resulting search showing all of the schools in that suburb and neigbouring suburbs.

I have an excel document with all schools listed with address and other details, is there anyway I could link the two so the name of schools in the suburb will show up possibly with a map (but is not necessary if it is hard to do). I would very much like it to look like the FINDNEAREST program
www.findnearest.com.au... which is a great site, and would like to purchase but unfortunately do not have the funds to set up. So I thought I would have a go myself.

I would very much appreicate any help at all you can give me to set this up for my site.

Hi Dan,

From my limited understanding of scripts, I believe you need to install a search script. You can go to a site like www.hotscripts.com.

Here's their specific page on search engine scripts.

You would download the scripts and upload them to your site according to the instructions. This may get you started. Maybe someone else can give more specific advice on what will work for you.
