WELCOME MESSAGE!!111!!!112!!

Okay, so basically, a welcome message is like majorly important. I read somewhere (maybe Lisa?) that if a person can't figure out what your site is within like 30 seconds they'll hit the back button D:

Soooo I was wondering what people would think of my welcome message! (I'm purposefully not saying what the site's about, you're supposed to just know xD)

Let me guess.... ummm... your site is about Alternative Fashion. Dang I'm good! LOL It's definitely a good start but what else are you planning to have on your site besides that paragraph? I agree the opening is very important but I guess it loses a little something without seeing your entire page/opening content, layout, etc.

I've already knew that you are going to build an alternative fashion site in the other thread, but didn't know you are into goth, Lolita. I used to think of creating a community site for these crowd knowing that they are quite some of them in small groups everywhere, Lolita is popular in Japan and China is seeing some fans too, but there aren't yet a large community seen online, although, there are already some established cosplay and Lolita sites found.

Oh, there are more people into it than you think. Google trend "Japanese fashion" and "teen fashion" and you'll find the terms have just about the same for search volume.

Regardless, my site is aimed more at getting beginners into it. =)

I think that opening paragraph is good, definitely put it first on its own secluded from the rest of your content or another option would be to cut it down a little and use as your slogan inside your header, footer or just below your header.
