Having problems uploading a background image to Twitter

Hello everyone,

Today I really discovered the power of Twitter and just how much traffic it can bring.

I have been trying to create a custom Twitter background. I started of ok by making small changes and re-uploading to see what it looks like but now I cannot see my image and I keep re-uploading, changing the file name, changing the file format but it doesn't show up.

Has any one else had this problem? Any ideas why this is happening?

Hmm. Are you refreshing the page? Or could it be too large a file?

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah I tried refreshing the page with no luck. I also took a look at the file size and my image is 100kb they allow 700kb.

I think what I will do is try again tomorow.

Haha thanks. Yeah knowing me I will realise I did something stupid to make it not work

I recently updated my background and found it rather frustrating myself. I would upload an image, but it wouldn't indicate it on Twitter. I think it has to do with caching. When I went back a few minutes later, I noticed that my image was finally updated.

Have you waited for some time after uploading a new image?

Thanks for those links that certainly looks to be why. I have Photoshop CS2 so it's slightly older than CS4.

Yeah, thats exactly right. I took another look this morning and to my supprise it was updated.

I come accross another problem yesterday which I did not mention. I added a white rectangle using the shapes tool in Photoshop and when I uploaded it the box expanded accross the whole screen.

I was expecting this to be a quick easy job lol to do.

It's official my background is now up and running. (Not designed by me)

I guess it was just something strange yesterday.
